Local Martial Artist Brings Home the Gold July 14th TAIYUAN, SHANXI PROVINCE CHINA Last week the 3rd Yang Family
Style Tai Chi Chuan International Invitational Tournament was held, overseen
by Grand Master Yang Zhen Duo the 4th Generation Grand Master of the Yang
Family Style. The event is held once every five years and is open to masters
and students alike. This year the tournament attracted over 3,500 competitors
from both China and across the world. The opening and closing ceremonies
included special martial arts displays by the Grand Masters of each of
the main Tai Chi Styles. Red Dragon @ McKinley Mall 822-0222 Last week, Taiyuan, Shanxi Province China was the meeting place for the 3rd. International Invitational Tournament of the Yang Family Style Tai Chi Chuan. The tournament was overseen by Grand Master Yang Zhen Duo the 4th Generation Grand Master of the Yang Family Style of Tai Chi, which included special features during the opening and closing ceremonies of martial arts displays by the Grand Masters of each of main Tai Chi Styles. This tournament is held once every five years and is open to masters and students alike and attracted over 3,500 competitors from all over the world, the vast majority of which of course were Chinese. Events featured were the 49 movement hand form, the 67 movement sword form and the 16 movement saber form and included both group and individual categories. Representing Buffalo was our own Robert Gott, Owner/Director of The Red Dragon School of Martial Arts and the Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Center of Buffalo located in the McKinley Mall who brought home a Gold medal for the 49 Form, a Gold medal for the 67 movement sword and a Silver medal for the Saber. He was interviewed and photographed by their local media. Congratulations!
